Early Bird Specials! Register by June 30th for the Best Deal! |
Hi {{user("firstname")}}, This month we have an article about how emissivity affects temperature measurements, and how mistakes can be made with inexpensive non contact thermometers by John Voitl of Coors Brewing Co. We also have a quick look at ITC America's new training facility near Boston that held its first class last month. Its a great facility, so if you need training give the Boston courses a serious look. And remember that the InfraMation Early Bird Special ends this month, so register soon! Do some of the roofs you survey have copper or aluminum components? Check out the message board posts about these below. As usual we have our Message board posts, News items, and our monthly Brainteaser for you to solve. As with all images in this newsletter, click an image to see a larger version. Last month ITC Americas moved into new custom built headquarters at 25 Esquire Rd in Billerica, MA. The second week of May we held our first training course. The facilities include a main classroom (with stadium seating so everybody gets a good view), application lab, conference/secondary classroom, student break area, cafeteria, and of course ITC staff offices.
Students in the main classroom are provided with power, internet connectivity, and video/computer monitors so they can practice on their camera without having to use the eyepiece. Students also have access to computers at their seats so they can learn and practice producing reports and analyzing thermal images.
The application lab includes building science, piping, motors and couplings, electronic, and of course electrical lab stations. A variety of problems are simulated for the students to find and measure. Many labs are instrumented with thermocouples so temperatures can be compared with the infrared camera readings. If you are looking to get some thermography training, put our Boston facility at the top of your list, you'll be glad you came! |
