Hello {{user("firstname")}},

I just happened to be surfing the web and I came across this month's lead story. As the weather gets colder, and the financial situation is unstable, saving money on heating our homes becomes more important. The short video from the Green Dream Group offers a great introduction on how to combine blower door testing with your IR camera.

If you haven't registered for the InfraMation Conference yet, there's still time. We are offering another exceptional program of learning and networking for thermographers. Come join us!

As usual we have our Message board posts, News items, and our monthly Brainteaser for you to solve.

As with all images in this newsletter, click an image to see a larger version.

Happy Halloween, we'll see you next month,

Gary Orlove,
Editor and Publisher

  • Roofing Inspection Question
I’ve done thermal imaging inspections for an engineering firm and contractors in which they have been responsible for any test holes in the roof. I’ve been asked to do a thermal scan on a high rise condo roof on my own. The roof is currently under warranty, and the condo association feels that the roofs leaking and the contractor states its fine. In a situation like this, who is responsible to make the test hole in the roofing to determine what’s below the top sheet? My prior reports always had the composition of the roofing stated. Any advice is appreciated.

  • Help on air condition unit
I am not in refrigeration, can any one tell me if there is a problem here ?

  • Possible moisture on granite wall of a church
looking for some input on this image. I went to this church where water from all locations was getting into the basement. I took this shot roughly 18 hrs after a heavy rain. Doing a comparitive evaluation, one inside corner looks cooler than the other. A visual inspection indicated that some of the mortar joints were still a little damp. The moisture meter is also confirming this. I have a temperature delta of around 5-6 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a substantial amount of water on the interior wall. Look like evaporating water, or just convection fooling with me?

And of course if YOU have a question or want to start a discussion on a topic, we would love to hear from you. Just post a new thread on a message board.
