The Infrared Training Center offers a
variety of courses including Level I, Level II, and Level III training and
certification for infrared thermographers primarily involved in predictive
maintenance.
All ITC Course Certifications meet or
exceed ASNT SNT-TC-1A guidelines. Level I and Level II courses are certified by
NETA (International Electrical Testing Association, an accredited standards
developer for the American National Standards Institute, ANSI).
We want to ensure the students know
how to use their cameras before we certify them so we emphasize a "hands on"
approach to teaching in the world's best-equipped infrared teaching facilities.
We cover all the infrared topics recommended by the ASNT guidelines and add
topics we know are important to our students.
ITC students not only receive course
manuals, but an extremely useful CD with camera and software manuals, technical
publications, free shareware and software utilities, along with useful website
addresses.
- Level I Thermography
-
This course
teaches new infrared thermographers how to use their IR cameras to
collect quality data. Students learn to get accurate temperature
readings, accounting for measurement effects such as distance and
emissivity. The course covers basic IR thermogram interpretation through
lab exercises, and theory/applications lectures. Students learn to avoid
costly mistakes by distinguishing between direct vs. indirect targets,
real hot spots vs. spurious reflections, and when to use qualitative vs.
quantitative thermography. A wide variety of thermography applications
are introduced.
- Level II Thermography
-
This course
reinforces Level I concepts with refresher material and introduction of new,
more in-depth concepts in IR theory, heat transfer, spatial resolution, and
applications. Students learn detailed image analysis and interpretation
techniques. The Level II course covers advanced IR report generation and
report template development. The applications labs are made more challenging
for Level II students.
- Level III Thermography
-
This
three-day course for Level II thermographers advances their expertise so
they can start and manage an Infrared Thermographic Program. The course
material covers advanced Thermographic techniques, program management,
temperature measurement device selection, calculating program ROI, and
developing written procedures. Additionally the students are provided with
information to help them pass the ASNT Level III method exam.
- Commercial Roof IR Inspection Course
-
The Roof
Moisture Survey Course is geared to the new IR camera user or practicing
thermographer wanting focused training on how to perform roof moisture
surveys.
- Commercial Electrical IR Inspection Course
-
The Roof
Moisture Survey Course is geared to the new IR camera user or practicing
thermographer wanting focused training on how to perform roof moisture
surveys.
- Research & Development Thermography
-
The R&D infrared
training course is intended to be appropriate for IR users with applications
that are demanding or do not fit a maintenance or condition monitoring
paradigm. The course material is distributed over three days. The
participant of this course is expected to be a reasonably skilled user of
his - or her - instrument. This course includes personalized consulting to
guide students for their application needs.
- Thermacam Reporter 2000 Professional
Software Training
This
course covers the details of template design with ThermaCAM Reporter 2000
Professional and also describes techniques for optimizing the report generation
process. Advanced IR image analysis techniques will also be discussed,
including how to create formulas, histograms, line profiles, and trend graphs.
